I'm excited - our outdoor kitchen is going to be beautiful! I’ve learned to trust Paul and his vision and realize that it’ll all happen when it happens, even if it takes awhile - but the results are always spectacular! He and Mike (and Steve too!) drilled an 8-inch hole through the foundation of our house yesterday into the basement. My GOD - it took almost 2 hours and was SO noisy! They all had to take turns with the big drill - I took pictures - it was crazy. They got the hole through, though, and ran the gas line through the basement and out to the backyard. It all got done at about 10 p.m. last night - eeek! So soon, our natural gas barbecue will be hooked up. It’s going to be awesome! I started working on flyers for the party last night, but I was too tired and went to bed (at midnight!)

Just letting you know, Paul’s out in the yard, trying to get the damned barbecue done. Yeah, I’ll be glad to have it done. It just annoys me that these projects take THE ENTIRE SUMMER to complete. You know, like, it was great to have our backyard done in time for our wedding last September, but it sucked that we only had a few weeks to enjoy it before the weather got cold. And that’s the story this year as well. That’s the story of our lives, though - all these kids means we have very little time to do anything. It’s frustrating sometimes!
