::takes a deep breath::

I’ve decided to paint the kids’ bathroom. Yeah. And I’m going to do it in a Spongebob theme, I’m thinking. I’m just tired of all the rubber duckies. So, I bought paint this morning. I’m about to run in and tape everything off before I have to run and get Pablo from school, and then I’m going to paint paint paint during naptime. Eeek! I haven’t painted anything in about 2 years now, because our lives are just too chaotic as it is to add WET PAINT, y’know? Hopefully it’ll all go well, I won’t spill paint on the carpet, and it’ll be dry by the time the kids are ready for a bath tonight. Wish me luck!

Okay, I get it. Wallpaper is the devil!

So remember a week or two ago, I mentioned that I went looking for a wallborder for the kids’ bathroom and Home Depot told me they no longer carried any sort of wallpaper at all? And I couldn’t find any at Target or Wal-Mart either? Well. Today, I drove halfway across town to the store where I bought all the fancy wallpaper I used to decorate the kids’ jungle-themed playroom - Wallpapers Etc. - and it was CLOSED! The sign was gone and all that remained inside were empty displays and bits of trash here and there. What the hell, man? I just got on their website the other day, and it still has the link there that says “tour our store!” with pictures of their store and stuff. No little note anywhere that says, “By the way, this is the only type of touring you’re gonna be doing, since WE ARE NOW CLOSED.”

So. I’m taking this as a sign that I should just paint and call it good.
