I weep for my lawn.

It looks even worse in pictures!, originally uploaded by lalagirl.

I don't get it. Our backyard looks great! Okay, okay. Not GREAT. It's slightly patchy, and there are a couple of spots that are almost dead, thanks to the baby pool. But it looks a thousand times better than the front yard, which resembles mange.

We water it! We fertilized! Still, it's half dead and full of dandelions. Booo. I spent all of naptime yesterday pulling weeds and pruning my shrubs, so it looks better, but it still looks like total crap.

I'm really hoping with a little more TLC, it'll start looking like the other (beautiful) lawns on our street, and I can look back at this blog post and say, "Look how far you've come, little lawn!"

Your lawn looks like ours. We built a new house last fall and I'm killing myself this spring trying to get the lawn looking good.

I love your blog idea, I myself am an engineer and your blog reminds me of our family as well.

If you're interested I've also created a home improvement blogroll that folks have joined. It's a great way to get more traffic to your site. Check it out if you get a minute, http://homeimprovementblogroll.blogspot.com

Our front yard looks great, but the backyard looks like that...dog pee kills grass!! It's a fight, we patch every year, so now we have different colored green grass, because we've probably bought different kinds of seed each time! LOL

With the clay/sandy soils we have in CO, you've got to core aerate and put compost on grass to give the roots a chance to breathe. Does

Gah, didn't finish my thought! Anyway, does Paul have any contacts that could get you one for an afternoon? You'd be surprised how much it will help.
