Those Girls!

Nikki and Lexi keep climbing out of their cribs. I think I'm going to have to spend (ack!!) another $140 on crib tents to keep them contained. We just can't give up naptime, no siree!!

I just went in and dispensed spankings to the both of them for climbing out while they're supposed to be quietly napping. They're not too happy at the moment.

Jessie asked in my comments yesterday how I arranged their room. Here's a picture I just snapped before they went down for naps:

The girls' room, looking in from the hall.

See that behemoth piece of furniture in the middle, there? I moved that heavy mofo all the way across the room all by myself! I like how it looks, but I don't know how long it'll last like this. I don't like Lexi against the window.

Grumble, grumble.

Have I mentioned that Paul is doing some work in the basement? He’s building a wall of bookcases with a hidden door. And he’s building a bar, too. And it’s all going to be a big playroom for the kids. I’m excited about it. At the same time, though, I hate when he’s in the middle of these home improvement projects. He can’t stop thinking about his plans and what he’s going to do and ends up sleeping poorly because of it. Between that and doing actual physical labor, he ends up being really tired. And if you know Paul, you know that when he is tired, he’s a grouchy bitch! I’m so thankful that it’s Monday and he’s back at work. Not that I don’t love him dearly, cause you know I do, but yeah. Cheer up, buttercup.

Handy Manny! Er, Hubby!

Paul is in the midst of another home improvement project. He’s building a “room” for the kids down in the basement. Currently, our basement is a just used for (extremely well organized) storage. Paul is building one wall across the middle of the basement and putting his “studio” on one side and a playroom on the other. He’s also building a small wall on the other side of the stairs to enclose a storage area. He’s got two doors hung and one wall framed out. And now he’s decided that the long wall will actually be made out of sliding bookcases, with a secret door. LOL! Nothing is ever easy, is it?
